Harbour Place: A Full Access Control Modernization
The Challenge
When Layered Fixes Stop Adding Up
Harbour Place is a multi-tenant residential building where residents and visitors share the same lobby and elevator system, but residential floors need to stay restricted to the people who live there. The existing access control setup had grown organically over the years, with mismatched panels, aging hardware, and wiring that made every service call slower than it needed to be.
Property management came to Pro Technologies looking for a clean, modern replacement that would simplify day-to-day operations, secure the elevator floor selection after hours, and give them a system that's easy to manage and maintain going forward.
What we built
Steve Lawrence and the team walked the building, reviewed the existing infrastructure, and designed a replacement that consolidated everything into a clean, organized controller stack. The new setup includes a dedicated keypad at the elevator that restricts access to residential floors during off-hours, integrated with the rest of the building's access control system so credentials and codes can all be managed from one platform.
Behind the scenes, the controller cabinets were re-mounted, labeled, and tied into a centralized management interface. Wiring was cleaned up and routed through proper conduit so future service calls are faster and the system is easier to expand if the building's needs change.
For client security, we've kept this write-up focused on the problem and the outcome rather than specific products and configurations.

What we can help with
If your system was professionally installed by us or someone else, we can likely help.
-
Beeping or trouble alerts
Low battery, zone fault, AC power loss, communication trouble. We can often resolve these by phone first.
-
System not arming or responding
Keypad lockout, panel error, or sensors not communicating.
-
Camera issues
Camera offline, image quality problems, recorder not saving footage, app not connecting.
-
Fire alarm service
Panel troubles, device failures, false activations, or annual inspection and testing.
-
Access control issues
Card reader not working, door not releasing, credential changes, or lockout situations.
-
Monitoring or app issues
Account changes, app setup on a new phone, adding or removing users, signal path problems.
Exact Appointment Times Matter
We make real appointment times.
One of the details that sets Pro Technologies apart is simple but important.
Not “sometime this afternoon.”
Not “between 12 and 4.”
A real time, with the expectation that we show up when we said we would. That applies to service too, not just new installations.
Let's talk about what your system should actually do.
Whether you need fire monitoring for a commercial building, video verification for a growing business, or 24/7 oversight for your home, we'll walk you through the options and design something that fits. No pressure. No contracts. Just a real conversation with our local team.
Serving commercial clients across New Hampshire since 2005. Manchester, Nashua, Hooksett, Concord, Bedford, Portsmouth, and beyond.
