Ashland Elementary School: Eyes on the Whole Campus
The Challenge
A school that needed eyes everywhere
Ashland Elementary School came to Pro Technologies looking for a complete security camera system that could give staff and administrators a clear view of the entire campus, from interior hallways and entryways to the playground, parking lots, and outdoor perimeter. Like a lot of schools, they were working with an aging patchwork of older cameras that didn't cover the spots that mattered most and didn't produce footage anyone could actually use when something needed reviewing.
The goal was straightforward: full coverage of the building and grounds, footage that's actually useful, and a system the school's team can operate without needing a technician on call every time something needs reviewing.
What we built
Steve Lawrence and the team walked the entire property, mapped out the coverage gaps in the existing system, and designed a new camera deployment around how the school actually moves through its day. Entry points, hallways, common areas, playgrounds, and parking areas all got dedicated coverage, with a mix of camera types chosen for each location's specific job. High-traffic intersections got multi-sensor cameras so one fixture could cover several directions at once, while outdoor perimeter spots got pole-mounted cameras designed to handle New England weather year-round.
Everything ties back to a central recording system in the school's equipment room, which gives administrators a single dashboard to view live feeds or pull recorded footage from any camera on campus. The interface is designed to be intuitive enough that office staff can pull up an incident without needing a manual.
For client security, we've kept this write-up focused on the problem and the outcome rather than specific products and configurations.

What we can help with
If your system was professionally installed by us or someone else, we can likely help.
-
Beeping or trouble alerts
Low battery, zone fault, AC power loss, communication trouble. We can often resolve these by phone first.
-
System not arming or responding
Keypad lockout, panel error, or sensors not communicating.
-
Camera issues
Camera offline, image quality problems, recorder not saving footage, app not connecting.
-
Fire alarm service
Panel troubles, device failures, false activations, or annual inspection and testing.
-
Access control issues
Card reader not working, door not releasing, credential changes, or lockout situations.
-
Monitoring or app issues
Account changes, app setup on a new phone, adding or removing users, signal path problems.
Exact Appointment Times Matter
We make real appointment times.
One of the details that sets Pro Technologies apart is simple but important.
Not “sometime this afternoon.”
Not “between 12 and 4.”
A real time, with the expectation that we show up when we said we would. That applies to service too, not just new installations.
Let's talk about what your system should actually do.
Whether you need fire monitoring for a commercial building, video verification for a growing business, or 24/7 oversight for your home, we'll walk you through the options and design something that fits. No pressure. No contracts. Just a real conversation with our local team.
